UAE Delegation Led by Deputy Prime Minister Visits Canada

A ministerial United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, visited Canada on June 19. The high-level visit marked a renewed chapter in Canada-UAE relations, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing strategic cooperation across a wide range of sectors.

Accompanying H.H. Sheikh Abdullah were key UAE officials including H.E. Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Sultan Al Mansoori, Envoy of the Foreign Minister for Canada; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic & Trade Affairs; Abdulrahman Ali Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to Canada.

During the official mission to Ottawa, Sheikh Abdullah met with key Canadian government leaders, including Prime Minister Mark Carney, Minister of Finance and National Revenue François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand, Minister of Industry Mélanie Joly, and Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu. The discussions reflected the depth and breadth of the bilateral relationship, with particular emphasis on enhancing trade and investment ties, industrial cooperation, innovation, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and education.

A written message from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was also delivered to Prime Minister Carney, affirming the UAE’s strong commitment to a long-standing and forward-looking partnership with Canada. Both sides exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments, reinforcing their mutual dedication to peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth.
