
The CUBC Hosts Roundtable with Canada’s AI Minister during GITEX
On the margins of GITEX, the Canada-UAE Business Council hosted a roundtable discussion with the Honourable Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. The session brought together leading private sector representatives and research institutions to explore strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation across critical sectors, including infrastructure, aerospace, supply chains, energy, and governance.



The roundtable, led by Ibrahim Al Hosani, Director at Director at Mubadala's UAE Investments Platform, highlighted the complementary strengths of Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the digital space. Canada’s world-class expertise in AI research and development, supported by a robust academic and innovation ecosystem, is being leveraged through partnerships that translate cutting-edge research into tangible, real-world impact, ensuring AI drives inclusive economic growth and public value.
