The Canada-UAE Business Council Welcomes Emirates to Its Board of Directors

The Canada-UAE Business Council (CUBC) is delighted to welcome Emirates to its Board of Directors.

Headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Emirates is one of UAE’s two flag carriers alongside Etihad and operates a vast network of flights to over 130 destinations. The airline was established in 1985 and has grown to become one of the largest and most prestigious airlines globally, renowned for its outstanding service, extensive route network, and state-of-the-art fleet.

Emirates’ operations in Canada began in October 2007 with the launch of three weekly, non‑stop flights between Dubai and Toronto. Today, the airline serves Canada with 14 flights per week: the Dubai-based carrier offers daily services to Toronto and introduced in 2023 a new daily service to Montreal, its second gateway in Canada.

Emirates and Air Canada entered in 2022 a codesharing agreement allowing passengers to seamlessly connect between the extensive networks of both airlines, providing enhanced travel options, convenient connections, and access to a wider range of destinations around the world.

This partnership between Emirates Airlines and the Canada-UAE Business Council marks an exciting milestone in our mission to strengthen ties between Canada and the UAE. With Emirates' extensive reach and influence, we are confident that our collaboration will open up new avenues for trade, investment, and exchange between our two nations.
