The Canada-UAE Business Council Deepens Commercial Partnerships in Alberta
As part of its Board of Directors delegation visit, the Canada-UAE Business Council (CUBC) convened high-level engagements in Calgary and met with Alberta Premier the Hon. Danielle Smith and members of her Cabinet.

The roundtable and luncheon discussion highlighted strategic areas of collaboration between Alberta and the UAE, including energy, agri-food, artificial intelligence, clean technology, connectivity, and infrastructure. These conversations come at a pivotal time, as Alberta prepares to open its new trade office in Abu Dhabi - an important step that will strengthen commercial and investment ties between the two markets.

The Council also held meaningful exchanges with the Hon. Brian Jean, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and the Hon. Joseph Schow, Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration. A private luncheon with the Right Hon. Stephen Harper, Chairman of Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), provided valuable insights into competitiveness, and investment priorities.

CUBC extends its appreciation to its local partners for their generous hospitality and their support the advancement of Canada-UAE commercial relations.
