Canada Appoints New Consul General In Dubai
The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, announced the appointment of His Excellency Tracy Reynolds as the Consul General of Canada in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He replaces His Excellency Jean-Philippe Linteau, Canada’s newly appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Prior to his appointment, H.E. Tracy Reynolds was Minister (Commercial) and Senior Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada to Japan. He managed a team of 48 trade professionals in five offices across Japan who provided support to companies looking at expanding their business relationships in the Japanese market. This included providing assistance to Canadian exporters of goods and services, support for Canadian direct investment abroad, and working with Japanese companies looking at investing in Canada.
Previously, he held senior positions in Global Affairs Canada and within Canada’s Privy Council Office and has held trade commissioner postings in several other countries including Indonesia, Malaysia and Syria.
While in university he joined the Canadian Armed Forces (Reserves), where he served in various positions as a NCO. He holds an MA from the University of Saskatchewan.
The Canada-UAE Business Council congratulates H.E. Tracy Reynolds on his appointment as Canada’s Consul General in Dubai and looks forward to working with him to leverage the growing bilateral partnership to further expand trade and investment between both countries.
