Agriculture, Sustainability and Logistics in the Spotlight at Gulfood
The Canada-UAE Business Council was pleased to collaborate with during Gulfood with DP World and the Government of Saskatchewan on a reception celebrating the flourishing Canada-United Arab Emirates (UAE) partnership and deepening ties on February 20, 2023 in Dubai, UAE.
During the event, Mr. Abdulla Al Hashimi, COO of Jafza Parks and Zones, the Honourable David Marit, Minister of Agriculture of Saskatchewan and His Excellency Abdulla AlSaleh, UAE Undersecretary of the United Arab Emirates for Foreign Trade and Industry, provided opening remarks.
Ms. Ilhem Bendjellit, Business Development Manager at DP World delivered a presentation encouraging Saskatchewan processors and exporters to take full advantage of the services provided by the company. Saskatchewan is Canada’s largest agri-food exporter to the UAE. In 2021, the total value of its UAE exports was C$ 636 million.
The following day, the Canada-UAE Business Council hosted a roundtable discussion in partnership with the Government of Saskatchewan focused on sustainable food production and food security with Minister David Marit.
